In partnership with Pacific Islanders in Communication, IMP is proud to announce the eighth season of Pacific Heartbeat, a national public television series of critically acclaimed documentaries that provides an authentic glimpse into the Pacific Islander experience.
In addition to the full slate of episodes premiering in WORLD Channel and other PBS stations, two of the films featured in Season Eight will premiere in Los Angeles and Oakland. ‘Leitis in Waiting’ will be screened as part of the 35th Annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. ‘Te Kuhane o te Tupuna,’ which chronicles a journey from Easter Island to London in search of the lost Moai Hoa Haka Nanaʻia, a statue of significant cultural importance, will be screened at Laney College in Oakland in celebration of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Viewers and learners can download the IMP-produced Season Eight discussion guide to learn more about the series, its films, and the important stories they tell.
